Sci Fi TV Premieres This Week: Agents of SHIELD, Gotham, Star Wars Rebels, and Eight More

The Fall season officially kicks off this week and it brings the premieres of eleven new and returning sci fi & fantasy shows. Below is the info on each of those along with trailers. You can see the full listings for the week at this link. Gotham: Season 3 Premieres Monday September 19th at 8 PM EST on FOX
Here’s the official synopsis of the upcoming third season:
Season Three will peel back the curtain on the infamous criminal organization known as the Court of The Owls. With the Indian Hill escapees on the loose, JIM GORDON must take matters into his own hands as a bounty hunter in Gotham. He makes it his mission to find HUGO STRANGE, the mastermind behind the horrifying Indian Hill experiments, and FISH MOONEY, one of Strange’s subjects. Meanwhile, GCPD Detective HARVEY BULLOCK and Captain NATHANIEL BARNES remain at the forefront of the fight against crime in the monster-ridden city. Also, BRUCE WAYNE, with the help of his trusted butler and mentor, ALFRED PENNYWORTH, and former Wayne Enterprises employee, LUCIUS FOX, discovers there are still more secrets to uncover regarding his parents’ murders. As the city sinks deeper into chaos, GOTHAM will continue to follow the evolving stories of the city’s most malevolent villains: THE PENGUIN; EDWARD NYGMA/the future RIDDLER; SELINA KYLE/the future CATWOMAN; BARBARA KEAN, TABITHA GALAVAN/TIGRESS and BUTCH GILZEAN. The series also will catch up with the future POISON IVY, who, after an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, finds herself reborn as a young woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms; and will dive into the origin stories of JERVIS TETCH/MAD HATTER, a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness; and the TWEED BROTHERS.

Lucifer: Season 2 Premieres Monday September 19th at 9 PM EST on FOX
Here is the official description of the second season which brings Tricia Helfer and Michael Imperioli onboard:
In Season Two, Lucifer and his brother, AMENADIEL, who have been sparring over Lucifer’s resistance to returning to the underworld, will now be brought back together for one common goal – to find their mother, CHARLOTTE, who escaped Hell. After all, Lucifer doesn’t take after his dad, so the parent he does resemble is sure to be quite terrifying. Lucifer’s work with the LAPD also is upended when the police force hires ELLA LOPEZ, a smart, tough forensic scientist whose mutual belief in both faith and science proves a point of interest to Lucifer. With mom on the loose, DR. LINDA MARTIN (Rachael Harris), who has become not only a therapist, but also a confidante to Lucifer, will surely have a lot of advice to dole out. And, by the time she’s done with them, she may need a therapist of her own.

The Good Place: Series Premiere Monday September 19th at 10 PM EST on NBC (Timeslot Premiere Thursday September 22nd 8:30 PM EST)
This show has its debut after The Voice on Monday and then moves to its regular timeslot on Thursdays. Here is the official description of the show:
From Executive Producer Michael Schur comes a smart, unique new comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop, an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife and, thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place, which is definitely where she belongs. While hiding in plain sight from Michael, the wise architect of the Good Place (who doesn’t know he’s made a mistake), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and discover the awesome (or, at least, the pretty good) person within.

Agents of SHIELD: Season 4 Premieres Tuesday September 20th at 10 PM EST on ABC
The fourth season of this show shifts to the 10 PM EST hour. Here is the official description of the upcoming season:
In light of the Sokovia Accords, and with Hydra obliterated, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been legitimatized again and no longer needs to operate in the shadows. Since the world presumes that Coulson is dead, the organization needed a new Director (Jason O’Mara) to be the face of the organization. Coulson finds himself back in the role as an agent and teamed with Mack, and together they are tasked with tracking down and confirming the presence of Enhanced people, aka Inhumans.

Scream Queens: Season 2 Premieres Tuesday September 20th at 9 PM EST on FOX

Season Two of SCREAM QUEENS graduates from the college campus and into a hospital with a haunted past, as a new and terrifyingly funny mystery begins. Each week, Season Two will delve deep into the fascinating and bizarre medical cases under observation at the hospital, while using the building’s sordid history as the springboard for the series’ overarching mystery.

MacGyver: Series Premiere Friday September 23rd at 8 PM EST on CBS
Here is the official description of the show:
MACGYVER, a reimagining of the classic series, is an action-adventure drama about 20-something Angus “Mac” MacGyver, who creates a clandestine organization within the U.S. government where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives. Joining his team on high-risk missions around the globe is maverick former CIA agent Jack Dalton and Patricia Thornton, ex-field agent turned director of operations and Riley Davis, an unpredictable computer hacker with a chip on her shoulder. The Exorcist: Series Premiere Friday September 23rd at 9 PM EST on FOX

Van Helsing: Series Premiere Friday September 23rd at 10 PM EST on Syfy
Here is the official description of the show:
Van Helsing is a total re-imagination of a timeless brand, set in a world dominated and controlled by vampires. Vanessa Helsing is the last hope for survival, as she unknowingly awakens to discover she has a unique blood composition that makes her not only immune to vampires, but with the ability to turn a vampire human. With this secret weapon, Vanessa becomes a prime target for the vampires, while trying to save humanity.

Star Wars Rebels: Season 3 Premieres Saturday September 24th at 8:30 PM EST on DXD
In its third season, this show will be bringing the Expanded Universe character Grand Admiral Thrawn into the fold (which will make the beloved Timothy Zahn trilogy of novels part of Star Wars canon). Also, former Doctor Who Tom Baker will be aboard voicing the character Bendu. You can read more about the upcoming third season at this link. This show will have an hour long season premiere.

Once Upon A Time: Season 6 Premieres Sunday September 25th at 9 PM EST on ABC
Here is the official description of the sixth season:
When Regina split herself in an attempt to eliminate her evil half, she unwittingly released the Evil Queen. Now the Evil Queen is back and ready to leave a trail of destruction in her wake. The Last Man on Earth: Season 3 Premieres Sunday September 25th at 9:30 PM EST on FOX
Here’s the official teaser for the upcoming third season:
The group relocated to Malibu, where MIKE MILLER (Jason Sudeikis), Tandy’s astronaut brother, finally found them, after spending years alone in outer space. In the season finale, Mike was sequestered from the group when he showed signs of having the virus, and Malibu appeared to be under siege as unknown, seemingly hostile survivors approached the beach. Season Three will pick up where the finale left off, with the group’s safety in jeopardy as armed intruders in hazmat suits approach the house.
